Who owns the recording?
When 合同会社Lefsenlayerco records your show at our Nakameguro table setup, the studio invoice covers engineering and file export—not automatic ownership of editorial content. Typically the producer or network that commissioned the episode holds rights defined in their guest agreements. If you are an independent host, you should state in writing that you may edit, distribute and monetise the recording.
Raw multitracks are archived 12 months per Terms then deleted unless a longer retention is purchased. Back up published masters yourself.
Guest releases
Each guest should sign or electronically accept a release covering: name and likeness, voice recording, editing rights (including clips for promotion), territories (Japan/worldwide), duration (perpetual or term), and whether the episode is sponsored. Minors need guardian consent; our booking policy requires participants aged 18 or older unless a legal guardian is present and documented.
We can witness signatures at the studio if you bring two copies; we do not provide legal templates—use your counsel or a reputable Japanese media contract kit. Store signed PDFs with episode metadata.
Music and jingles
Background music, intro themes and stingers need proper licences. Using commercial tracks without permission risks takedowns on Spotify, YouTube or Amazon Music. Libraries with explicit podcast tiers, commissioned themes, or in-house compositions are safer. Note PRO payments in Japan (JASRAC etc.) when music is broadcast publicly—we give general awareness, not legal advice.
If guests perform a cover live, both recording and composition rights may apply. Plan clearance before publishing.
Sponsored content and ads
Disclose paid promotions under applicable advertising standards. Separate ad reads from editorial audio when contracts require removable inserts. Sponsors may impose approval windows—factor that into ¥8,800 hours when booking editing.
Corporate clients on 30-day payment still need brand guidelines attached to the session brief via Contact.
Privacy and personal data
Guests may share personal stories subject to Privacy policy. If you collect emails for newsletters on set, obtain consent for that specific purpose. Our contact form processing is described for 合同会社Lefsenlayerco; your show newsletter is your controller duty.
Right to be forgotten requests may require episode edits or takedowns—budget time in post.
Platform rules
Apple Podcasts, Spotify, YouTube and domestic apps each prohibit certain content (hate, illegal activity, undisclosed ads). Explicit language flags should match platform settings. Video simulcasts need separate talent releases if you film faces in the live room (max 7 people in our live area—table sessions usually stay smaller).
Export formats after edit are typically 44.1 or 48 kHz WAV or MP3 per your host; see master formats if you also release a music version.
